The Departments of “Home Economics and Ecology”, “Geography” and “Informatics and Telematics” of Harokopio University, the “Department of Business Administration” of the University of the Aegean and the “Institute de Researche et d’ Études Supérieures du Tourisme” of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne (IREST) University, according to the Gov. gazette 4095B’/20-12-2016, and following the 1st meeting of the Coordinating Committee (29.06.2017/1/C.C.) and the Senate decision (306 A / 13.07.2017), they invite the interested parties from 17/ 07/2017 up to 25/09/2017 to apply for a total of sixty (60) postgraduate students in the International Master Program (MSc) entitled “Sustainable Tourism Development: Cultural Heritage, Environment, Society

Why This Programme

The programme focuses on the provision of high-level qualifications for professions related to Tourism Science and Cultural Heritage. The subject of the Master’s program is the provision of specialized studies in the scientific field of Sustainable Tourism Development through the cultural heritage. In particular, it aims at the specialized training of postgraduate students in subjects related to:

The Programme

The Master’s programme is a full-time course of 12 months. It consists of two intensive semesters during which theoretical and seminar courses and lectures covering the wide range of Tourism Management and Cultural Heritage are taking place. The programme is completed through practical training and diploma thesis. The programme’s professors come from all three Universities. All courses are taught in English and are held at Harokopio University.

International Industry Intership Programme

Practical training is compulsory and can be held in any country, after the approval by the Administrative Committee of the MSc Program.

The applicants’ selection process takes place through: a. Application Folder, b. Personal interview and c. Knowledge level of the English language.

Fees

The Master’s Program is self-financed and the total cost for each participant amounts to 5,500€, which is paid in four (4) equal installments of 1,375€ each at the beginning and the end of each semester.

Career Oportunities

There are a number of interesting roles within tourism and heritage bodies in the public and private sectors such as working for tour companies, heritage attractions, museums, and hotel groups. You could also work as a consultant in business, as part of a local government team and on planning bodies. In addition, there are jobs available in education, particularly at college and university level. Your degree may enable you to consider studying for a research degree to consolidate your expertise.
